When German professional football player Mario Götze and model Ann-Kathrin tied the knot, their wedding immediately caught the public’s attention – and mine as well. Beyond Ann-Kathrin’s stunning gown, it was the breathtaking venue that truly stood out: Son Marroig, with its famous white marble temple overlooking the sea.

“Oh… my… God.” That was my first thought when I started researching Son Marroig. How can a wedding venue possibly be this beautiful? Sea views, Mediterranean flair, and a majestic marble temple – all in one place. Simply extraordinary. Can you imagine getting married at Son Marroig too? Then keep reading — here’s everything you need to know about celebrating your wedding at this magical Mallorca venue.
What exactly is Son Marroig?
Son Marroig is a stunning historic mansion on the island of Mallorca. Today, it mainly serves as a museum, showcasing antique furniture, paintings, and literary works. The estate once belonged to Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria, who lived here for decades. It was his brilliant idea to build a small marble temple in classical Greek style on a cliffside terrace — offering a breathtaking view of the sea and some of Mallorca’s most spectacular sunsets.
It’s no surprise that Son Marroig has become one of the island’s most sought-after venues for symbolic wedding ceremonies.
The location of Son Marroig
Nestled in the Tramuntana Mountains, between Sóller and Valldemossa and close to the picturesque town of Deià, Son Marroig is about a 40-minute drive from Palma. Perched dramatically on the cliffs, the estate offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the Na Foradada peninsula — a setting that feels almost unreal.
A wedding at Son Marroig: Saying “I do” in paradise
Dreaming of following in the footsteps of German professional football player Mario Götze and his wife Ann-Kathrin? Son Marroig is the perfect venue for a romantic, open-air ceremony — right in the marble temple with its sweeping sea views.
Across from the temple lies the historic mansion itself, with spacious terraces that can host up to 140 guests — ideal for an unforgettable celebration with family and friends under the Mallorcan night sky.
How much does a wedding at Son Marroig cost?
If you’ve fallen in love with this dream venue by now, you’re probably wondering: how much does it cost to get married at Son Marroig?
Let’s just say: white marble temple, sea view, celebrity hotspot… you can imagine that this venue isn’t exactly among the most affordable on the island. Venue rental starts at around € 9,000.
